There is a big variety of jump dances.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mutxiko.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/hiribesta.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-192\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mutxiko.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/hiribesta.jpg\" alt=\"hiribesta\" width=\"627\" height=\"471\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.mutxiko.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/hiribesta.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.mutxiko.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/hiribesta-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 627px) 100vw, 627px\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<ul type=\"square\">\n<li><strong>The Labourd Carnival\u00a0(Lapurdiko Ihauteria)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"left\">This is a complete performance\u00a0that includes various dances: Maska dantza and Kaskarrot martxa, Marmutx, Makil dantza, Xinple,\u00a0Zapatain dantza,\u00a0Jauziak, the Polkas and ends up with the Soka. The dance is accompanied by a \u00ab\u00a0Konparsa\u00a0\u00bb formed by\u00a0dancers\u00a0dressed with masks and colourful\u00a0costumes\u00a0 that represent different characters of the \u00ab\u00a0petit tour\u00a0\u00bb, hence it is danced in couples that go\u00a0in a circle,\u00a0 counterclockwise.\u00a0Couples hold the same\u00a0 handkerchief from opossite sides and men play castanets.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u00a0 \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mutxiko.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/ingurutxo.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span id=\"result_box\"><span class=\"hps\">Ezpata-dantza is believed to be<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">oldest traditional<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">dance<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">of<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Gipuzkoa<\/span>. <\/span>It is a dance that is usually danced on important occasions, and has frequently been linked to the Corpus Christi celebration, St. John&rsquo;s day and to the main local festivities. The ezpata-dantza has traditionally been performed inside the church or in processions. A small variation of the dance with small swords is performed on such occasions and is known as <span class=\"textuaKursiba\">Jaunaren aurrekoa<\/span> (dance in front of Our Lord).
